It requires practice, patience, technique and the right tools to make hair looking perfect after a blow-dry session.  One has to master some tricks and tricks on how to dry blow hair perfectly and with ease.

How to blow dry hair

Everyone loves a summery, beach waves to the hair. Blow-dried hair looks presentable, formal and gives a little glam to your overall appearance.

It frames the face and makes a statement even on a casual day. Here is a step-to-step guide on how to blow dry hair perfectly without damaging your hair-

Wash hair

Washing hair every day is not necessary; however, top hairstylists suggest that washing hair before blow-drying hair gives a smoother and softer look after blow-drying. Blow dryer doesn’t work that well on greasy hair.

Using a volumizing shampoo and conditioner will give your hair an extra volume and shine. Avoid shampoos that have harmful chemicals such as sulfates and alcohol.

Dry hair using a towel

It is important to towel-dry hair before beginning the blow-dry session. Soaking up the extra water from hair will consume less time while blow-drying and also it will take lesser heat from the hairdryer.

Always be gentle when drying hair.  Use a soft towel or a soft cotton t-shirt to dry out the hair. It is important to let the hair air dry for a bit.

Use heat protection product to your hair

The heat protection product will give extra coverage to the hair and prevents hair damage.  Apply the product from the roots to the end strands of hair while they are damp.  This will protect the hair follicles and reduce split ends.

Distribute the product evenly by running your fingers through the hair. If one has a little frizz, applying a frizz control cream or serum before blow drying hair helps control frizz. One can even add a bit of heat resistant hair spray to tame the hair.

Separate hair into sections

Use hair clips to divide the sections of your hair.  This is the simplest way, to begin with, the blow-drying. It allows each section and strand of the hair to get styled. Also, it prevents issues with shaping them later. Detangle all the knots from your hair using a hairbrush.

Pick one section to dry

Pick one section at a time to dry the hair. Small sections are quicker to dry and manage.  Even low-heat can dry out smaller sections of hair.

Choose a good hairdryer

When picking a hairdryer, choose the best hairdryer.  There is a wide variety when it comes to hairdryers in the market.  There are different brands that have different hair dryers. One should always check the features of the hairdryer they are choosing before purchasing it.

One should be familiar with the temperature controls and other settings.  Temperature greatly affects the shape of the hair when blow-drying and airflow set the style. Many hair dryers come with attachments and nozzles.

If your hair is thicker and longer, try buying a hairdryer that can go high as 200 watts.  If one has thin and medium hair, a smaller dryer will work.

Always use medium or low heat

It is true that excess heat damages hair. This is why most hairstylists recommend that one must always keep the heat low or medium.

One can slowly increase the temperature once the hair is used to the heat. This technique will prevent sucking extra moisture from your hair and keep it look radiant and healthy.

Separate sections with a round hairbrush

A round hairbrush helps in drying the hair faster as it separates the hair and detangles. Using the brush on small sections of hair will prevent damage to the hair and give a cleaner, net look.

Pull the brush to keep hair straight and stretched tight

Pulling the brush gently at the end will make the hair taut and in shape, it has to be blow-dried.  It will prevent damage and give a structured look to your hair.

Target the root to give extra volume

By giving extra heat to the roots of the hair will give a bit of volume to the hair and make them look heavy and healthy. This gives volume and doesn’t make hair look flat.

Shape the ends

After the hair id blow dries, use a brush towards the end strands to shape them and give them a natural wave or curl to make them look stylish. This gives the hair a salon-like touch.

Use a serum for extra shine

One can use a shine spar or mist to give hair a glossy and lustrous look.  One should always distribute the shine evenly by gently rubbing the product on the hair.

Use hairspray

Hairspray helps in keeping the blow dries hair in shape and well-structured. Using a lightweight hairspray is the best as it does not make the hair too hard or brittle.
