Gel polish is a beautiful finishing touch on nails but can cause them to bubble if not applied correctly.
There are two common mistakes that people make when using gel based nail polish removers.
The first mistake is trying to use too much of the product.
The second mistake is using too little of it.
What happens when you don’t use gel polish properly?
When you use too much gel polish, the bubbles will form a film over the tip of your nail.
This will not only make the look of your nail unappealing, it will also affect the way it feels and looks.
The same thing goes for using too little of it. It will leave your nails with an uneven texture.
If you notice that your gel does not cover the entire nail, you may have used too much.
To test it, dip your hand into the product. If you see white bubbles forming, you have used too much.
If you see yellowish-brown bubbles, it is safe to say that you used less than the amount indicated on the container.
You can experiment with different amounts until you find the proper amount for you.
Should you use a toothbrush to remove polish bubbles?
The second mistake that is commonly made is trying to remove the bubbles using a toothbrush.
The gel polish will seep through the nail bed, so you need something that will get it past the gel polish.
There are several products that are designed specifically for this purpose.
They can be found at any drugstore or beauty supply store.
One of the best brands is Idol Glo.
Their product has a sponge on one side that helps the product to move through the nail bed.
Use a bottle with hot water
Another technique that you can use to try to take the bubbles out is to use a hot water bottle.
Fill the bottle halfway with hot water and place your fingers in the bottle.
You should feel free to go further into the bottle with your fingertips as long as the hot water is already in the tip of your index finger.
Let the tip of the finger drip into the bottle.
If the tip of your finger is still within the nail bed, then it will not be removed easily.
How do you fix bubbles in gel polish?
You can also use the inside part of your nail brush for this purpose.
Place your pinkie finger inside the polish tube and use gentle circular motion for about 30 seconds.
This will allow the bubbles to come out of the polish.
If you are going to try this method, you should only use the inside part of your nail brush.
What should you do if your fingers run into the gel polish tube?
Your best bet would be to try to clean it out using alcohol.
Then soak your nail in alcohol for about a minute or two.
Once you’ve soaked your hand, soak your pinky in the alcohol for a few more minutes.
If this doesn’t work, try soaking a cotton bud with some alcohol in the gel polish tube.
Is it easy to fix bubbles in gel polish?
Gel polish contains air bubbles, which are the result of excess polishing agents.
When you apply gel polish to your nails, air bubbles form.
If you have an air bubble in the middle, then this means that the product has already been applied too much.
If you find an air bubble, all you need to do is remove it by slowly swirling your nail until the bubble disappears.
The solution you’ll need to get rid of these air bubbles is hydrogen peroxide.
Simply mix some hydrogen peroxide into the gel polish bottle and shake to create bubbles.
Then remove the bottle from your hands and gently rub the bubbles away.
Use a nail file
If you want to remove a lot of polish bubbles, you should try using a blunt object such as a file or your fingernail, which has lots of small air pockets.
You can also try soaking your nail in hydrogen peroxide for about 5 minutes and then cleaning it out with alcohol.
You may have to do this several times to remove all traces of the chemical.
It’s best to try to avoid touching your manicure tools to your nails, which would cause the gel polish to bubble up.
If you are planning on touching your nail tools to your nails, you can use gloves.
Also, make sure that your gel polish is stored in an airtight container.
How do you fix bubbles in gel nails?
We have all had it, a little messy day at work and your gel nailer goes bust.
Or maybe your nailer was just worn down and needed some TLC – well this is a quick and easy fix.
You want your beautiful nail art to last but don’t want it to be tarnished and scratched, well this is how you do it.
Here are some tips and tricks on fixing your gel nail fast:
First of all if you notice your nail starting to bubble, then it means that the piece is too thin to stand the pressure of everyday living.
This might mean your nailers is faulty or your gel is weak.
To fix this problem, you simply need to file your nail down a bit.
Now the next step is to add a small amount of resin mix to your nail tip.
Use a cotton bud to dip it into the resin for a few seconds.
The reason this works is because the water expands when you heat it.
What you want to do is cover your whole nail with this resin.
After this wait about 10 minutes before doing your daily routine.
If you do this on a regular basis, your nails will stay stronger and your bond stronger.
Add hydrogen peroxide
Another tip on fixing a bubble in your nails is to add a little bit of hydrogen peroxide.
This is something you can buy from any drug store or pharmacy.
It’s a chemical that helps prevent bacteria growth, so it’s great for fixing bacteria on nails.
You should now be able to see a clear solution in your water.
To achieve the best results adding a little more hydrogen peroxide than what you’re using already should be fine.
Use a wash cloth to clean out the solution
Just don’t rub too hard because you don’t want your nail to become too dry.
Once you’ve applied the solution you can start shaping your nails.
Make sure to always start with the bottom part of the nail.
You can use a file or a pumice stone to do this.
Keep in mind not to scrape the gel while you’re filing it down.
Apply a little pressure and then push the file down a bit until it comes out the other side of the nail.
Wash the gel off with warm water and a normal soap
Use a nail clipper to cut off the excess gel if it does get on your hands.
Let the nail dry for a few minutes.
Then you can apply a new coat of solution and shape your nails as usual.
This process should continue until you reach the desired length.
Is it a difficult process?
It sounds complicated, but with practice and a little information, it isn’t that hard.
What I did to solve my problems was to soak my nails in an olive oil solution.
It worked pretty well and I even had the nails grow back for a couple weeks before I went to the salon.
The problem with soaking my nails is that it takes time to allow the solution to soak in.
I didn’t have a long tub to soak my nails in, but a few minutes were more than enough.
You can do it at night before bed or whenever you’re ready.
You should now be able to tackle this problem if you have.
There are also other things that you can try, like using a styptic stick to clean the area.
I didn’t use one of these because I don’t like the smell, but you may want to try one just to see what happens.
