Can You Shower With Fake Eyelashes?

You may be one of the thousands of women who, like me, want to know the answer to the question Can you shower with fake eyelashes?

Everyone knows that eyelashes are very important for your appearance and that false ones can ruin your looks.

What about the effect that fake eyelashes will have on your eyes?

How can this not affect your eyesight?

First of all, you should know that the eye is a muscle.

It is made up of many tiny muscles and each muscle is controlled by a hormone called estrogen.

The amount of estrogen in the blood is decided by a genetic predisposition.

The biggest of these hormones is cortisol, which is secreted during times of stress and anxiety and can be much greater than the amount of estrogen in your body.

Why does this have any effect on the health of the eyelashes?

Cushing’s syndrome is one condition that can result from high levels of cortisol.

In other words, when you are stressed or when you go through a lot of physical or emotional stress, the body releases large amounts of this hormone.

As well, prolonged exposure to irritating chemicals such as hair dyes and eyelash glue can also cause the production of cortisol and – voila!

Pretty mascara.

So, what can you do to alleviate the problem of excess cortisol production?

Shower with natural eyelash removers that contain green tea oil or coconut oil

Both of these substances are known to have antioxidant properties and can help to reduce the production of cortisol by blocking its access to the eye muscles.

These types of products are readily available online and at health food stores.

Another way to reduce the build up of this hormone is by avoiding contact with the eyes.

This means that you should not rub your eyes, wear contact lenses or keep your gaze on the screen for a long time.

Shower your eyes with plain water

Showering with water instead of soap and water is the best option because it eliminates the possibility of any toxins getting into your eyes and clogging them.

Apart from using water to bathe with, you should also take regular rest every day and avoid moving your eyelashes.

This is because our eyelashes are made up of fat and oil and if we move them around constantly, then they will become weak and prone to tearing.

As well, regular blinking speeds up the eyelash falling out.

Refrain from blinking as often

To improve your vision and prevent tearing of the lashes, you should only use waterproof mascara.

This type of mascara is more difficult to remove and you can get rid of it easily by wiping the mascara wand across your eyes gently.

You may want to try changing the brand if it doesn’t make your eyes look good.

Get another set of waterproof mascara

If you cannot remove the mascara with your finger tips, then you should use an Mascara Remover in the market.

Before you start the application, you need to wipe the area around your eyes with a wet towel so that the mascara is wiped off smoothly and thoroughly.

The Mascara Remover has an application method exactly like the original liquid mascara.

You need to apply the remover to your eye lash base, cover your eyes with the remover and press the applicator against each eyelash and allow it to settle for a minute or two before you start the actual application process.

You can even change the color of the remover to match your lipstick shade if you are wearing one.

What happens if I get my lash extensions wet?

In general, when extensions get wet they are not as difficult to remove as when they are dry.

If you notice, the first few times your extensions get wet you will have to struggle to take them off.

For one thing they are rather slippery.

It is very hard to apply pressure to the extensions in order to remove them.

Plus once they get wet, they become even more slippery and pose a greater risk of being snagged on furniture legs.

If you are trying to remove your extensions by pulling on them with too much pressure, you can cause them to break.

You don’t want to do this, and you certainly don’t want to mess up your extensions.

The last thing you want to do is rip through your extensions

So always play it safe and take the time to do it properly by using proper extension remover.

By taking these precautions you can minimize the damage that can be caused by removing your extensions.

Most extensions are removed with a special chemical called Revitol.

You can buy it at almost any beauty supply store.

What happens when eyelash extension get wet?

If the chemical has been applied to the extensions correctly, they will become soft and pliable.

Then you will want to squeeze or pinch the extension so that it snaps right off.

If you have been caring for your extensions correctly, they should come out pretty easily.

If they don’t though you may have to resort to filing them.

If you have not been careful with your extensions, and they are wet then they are going to be very slippery.

Once you try to pull them off, the glue could possibly tear the extensions.

Apply the glue properly

If you have been applying the glue properly, they should come out nice and easy.

If you have been careless and the extensions become too wet, it could be a little bit trickier.

In this case, you would have to carefully squeeze the extension until it snaps right off.

You would want to make sure that you do not hurt yourself doing this, so make sure you have a steady hand.

What happens if I get my lash extensions dull?

This is usually something that new extensions have to deal with.

After you wash them, you want to use conditioner to make sure that they get cleaned up and nice and shiny.

When the conditioner touches the extensions it can dull them and cause them to become harder to remove.

If you are using the brush to brush your extensions then you should not use any kind of shampoo to clean them with.

This can cause them to become dull and even damage the extensions.

Conclusion

In order to remove your extension’s the only way to do is to put them in a warm shower.

Then you will need to be careful and only grab a sponge or towel to carefully apply pressure on the extension and once it snap it will fall off.

Make sure that you only dry them completely before putting them back in.

Also, be careful when you wash your hair as the shampoo can dry out the extensions and cause them to break.

If you follow these tips, you will notice that your extensions will look great!
