Are Acrylic Nails Really Considered Unprofessional?

Many of us have seen acrylic nails on fashion models and celebrities. But are acrylic nails really considered unprofessional? This is a question that comes up in our minds frequently especially when nails get yellow or when they develop cracks and separations.

In fact, this is not the only reason why your nails may turn yellow. There are actually several other reasons why nails become unprofessional but it all depends on you as an individual – how you care for your nails, what products you use and what methods you use to keep them healthy and beautiful.

It is important to remember that there is no universal definition of how professional or how good one’s nails should look like.

What may be perfect for someone else may not be appropriate for you. Your lifestyle, your profession, even the products you use can affect how your nails look so it would be better if you discuss your ideas with your nail technician before deciding on getting acrylic nails.

Your manicurist will also be able to give you advice on this matter. But remember that having yellowish nails or cracked, separated and crumbled acrylic nails does not necessarily mean you are not qualified to be a nail professional – it may simply mean you did not take into consideration some important factors regarding the upkeep of your nail.

Acrylic nails are definitely considered unprofessional if they are stained, yellowed and dull. The best way to maintain your acrylic nails is to make sure that you do not expose them to too much direct sunlight and to avoid over-exposure to the sun’s rays since this can also lead to cracking, peeling and splitting of the nails.

If you already have yellowed, cracked and split nails, you might want to consider using natural nail polish to give your nails a nice golden look instead of using acrylic nail polish.

When it comes to nail polish, it is best to only use it under the supervision of a professional. Natural nail polish is also best applied at least twice a week as compared to three to four times a week with acrylic nails.

Is it Unprofessional to Have Long Nails?

Long nails or acrylic nails are not as common nowadays, but I can assure you that still there are a few women who like having them.

This has nothing to do with being glamorous or a supermodel, because I have a feeling that these types of women have long nails for a reason, and that reason is because it looks more sophisticated, more formal and more polished than short nails.

It’s like when you wear your professional jewelry and you don’t really care if it’s made out of fine silver or golden wire, because if you were wearing a regular earring you wouldn’t have the same effect of it.

As a matter of fact, if you would wear a real earring made out of gold or sterling silver you would probably change your mind in a heartbeat and think “that was really tacky”.

Having long nails also means that you can put on an extra thick layer of polish and even some fake skin behind your nails, which gives the illusion of having thicker and fuller nails. This isn’t a good idea though, as it could cause damage to your nails over time.

Also, it takes a lot of time to achieve this look, so if you are in a hurry, and need nails done quickly, you might want to reconsider it. If you decide that you really want to have a professional manicure done on your nails, I would suggest that you visit a salon instead of doing it yourself at home.

Now if you ask me, having nails that are too long wouldn’t hurt. I wouldn’t mind seeing it happen, but I wouldn’t encourage it either. If you really feel that you want to have your nails done professionally, go ahead, but just realize that doing so will take up a considerable amount of your time and money.

If you are someone who doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on stuff like this, and you only want their nails to be perfect, then I would suggest that you stick to buying nail polish and other beauty products for your nails that are less expensive.

Can You Have Acrylics As A Waitress?

If you want to be a waitress, is it okay to have acrylic nails? The short answer is yes. There are no rules or guidelines that say a waitress cannot have nail polish on her hands. In fact, it would seem odd not to have some on.

Of course, most people do not have manicures and pedicures and they wear simple white cotton gloves during the operation.

It is entirely different when it comes to being a server. When you are a server, your nails must look clean and sharp. Nails that are crooked or have an odd shape can distract a customer, especially if it is someone with a sweet tooth. So, can you have acrylics as a waitress?

If you work at an upscale bar or restaurant, you probably have acrylics on your fingers anyway. But if you are serving customers for instance, you need to look polished and sharp even if you do not have long nails.

Of course, most of us only need our nails done once in our lifetime so there is no reason why we should not make the appearance that society thinks is proper. So, can you have acrylics as a waitress? Sure, it is okay.

What is the Best Nail Shape For The Office?

What is the best nail shape for office? This is a common question of every professional woman and one of the most asked questions by the fashion-savvy individuals.

The answer to this question depends on the shape of your nails, but the first thing you need to keep in mind while choosing the best nail polish for office is the maintenance factor involved.

Acrylic nails require little or no maintenance. They are also ideal for the working women who can’t find the time to go for manicures.

If you are planning to buy acrylic nails, just make sure that you should ask the seller to show you some close up picture of the product. The pictures will help you understand the quality of the product and you will also get to know how they paint the nails.

If you want the product for long term use, then you will have to go for the natural nails. But, if you don’t want to spend much time in maintenance, then opt for acrylic nails as they are very economical and will save your money too.

To choose the best nail polish for office, you can take the help of the professionals. However, you should also consider few things like the number of coats of polish you need to maintain your acrylic nails. It is said that the more number of coats of polish you need, the longer the nail will last for.

If you want your acrylic nails to be long lasting and can resist water and moisture, you should go for natural nails.

Is Acrylic Nails Suitable For The Office?

When you’re talking about “cute”, “affordable” and “professional” nails, there’s no denying that acrylic nails are all of these things! If you have ever seen someone with nails that look nothing like the models in the magazines or on the runway, it’s probably because the wearer has just had acrylic nails done.

For those who don’t know how acrylic nails work, they are a type of artificial nails, made of a clear polymer mixed with resins.

The resin is applied to the nails through a chemical process, then the color or colorant is applied to the outer layer, while the inner layer of the nail is left undisturbed. It is this undisturbed layer that will form your beautiful hands!

As a result, it is entirely possible for women to get acrylic nails done even if they are not going to be doing office work, since the process requires no tools and is easy and quick to do.

However, if you’re going to be in an office full of people, it would probably be better to just use nail polish, or at least fake nails. Since acrylics can be thin, fake nails can be nearly as thin – and can almost fool everyone.

You can’t tell if someone is wearing acrylic nails by the polish remover you use to clean them; the polish remover may cause the acrylic nail to change color, and the fake nails won’t! With fake nails, the only way to tell if you are wearing acrylic nails is to smell them.

Of course, if you do need acrylic nails done professionally, it would be wise to find out exactly what chemicals are involved, and whether you would need to do them regularly, or not.

It is always best to check with your salon/nail technician, but it may be worth spending a few extra dollars to make sure you’re getting the best possible service.

If you buy acrylic nails online, make sure they come with the directions you need to follow, so you don’t waste your time or money. After all, it will take some time and effort to learn about the process before you start doing it at home.

How Long Should Nails of Working Women Be?

When it comes to nails, most working women do not have too many problems regarding the maintenance of her nails because they usually work at office.

However, when you go home after a long day of work or return from a business trip your nails will start to wear off and this is not good when you are trying to appear more polished. You need to understand that this appearance can greatly affect your performance at work.

It has been seen that most working women wear nail polish to cover their ugly nails. Although some of them do this as an excuse for their less than perfect nails, but we all know the damage that false nails can do.

When you wear false nails you may feel embarrassed when you go out in public and nobody will want to make physical contact with you. You will also find that your nails will not look as healthy as they would if you had healthy nails.

Conclusion

The most important thing you can do is not wear fake nails. You should remove your false nails every night before you go to bed to allow your nails to breathe. This process will take about an hour in total and it is definitely worth it.

If you are not comfortable with removing your nails in front of other people, you can always get a manicure done to make your nails appear healthy. A manicure will cost you more than having your nails done professionally, however it will make your nails look great.
